Rationalising or making excuses???

Well winter is well and truly here ............ it's wet and it's cold and the ducks are loving it!!!

The cold weather got me thinking;

This is my 3rd round the weight loss has slowed down from the first and second round.  I still have at least 8kgs to go, so it's not like I'm getting close to my goal weight.

But, it's winter and it's cold, yes I'm exercising and yes I'm eating well (with a couple of hiccups), but the kilos are not coming off very fast.

However, here is my rationalising or my excuses - you decide.

Previous winters and I'd be a sloth, struggling to take the dog for a walk a couple of times a week, eating large amounts of chilli, laced with sour cream and cheese and of course yummy rice.  And I'd probably gain 5kg over winter, not that I'd weigh myself - that's too scary!!!

So here it is winter, 2013 and 12wbt.  I'm exercising 6 days a week, following the eating plan and am loosing weight, not as much as I'd like but it's still going down!!!  And the hope is that when the warm weather comes around I'll be ready for a new pair of togs!!!

On Saturday, my SSS buddy and myself went to a running clinic, run by Kaz from mind body motion.  An excellent couple of hours where I walked away with lots to think about - what sort of striker am I, how is my breathing and my cadence, and how to train effectively for a run/race (lots of new words).  Lots to think about and put into action, so baby steps of fixing up my pace first and while fixing up my pace this morning I've realised I'm not breathing often enough.

I went for my first run this morning trying to put some things in practise.  Some interesting experiences;

The first thing was, no Jakey to run with me.  He'll have to just be a walking dog.
Running to the beat (downloaded an app metronome) - trying to anyway.
Remembering to breathe, which I don't do regularly enough
Completing 1km next to the park (I had 4 x 1km runs to do mid run), then ........
stomach pains - I need a bathroom!!!!  Training was abandoned as I walked very quickly home.

Running home to get to the bathroom - no goo needed for me :)

Now some happy news for this mumma bear.  My little European traveller is due home on 12/7, two and a half weeks!!!  So excited to see her, so excited to cuddle her ............. can't wait for that 9am flight.
