Cost of food - not an excuse

I've heard lots of comments (whining) on the 12wbt forums about the cost of food.

I'm sorry but I don't buy it. I have a family of 4 adults to cater for.  They don't all eat the food I prepare so they need food they can prepare themselves for lunches and dinners.  I have mr 19 who is 6 ft 6 and a landscaper, yes he eats ALOT!!!  I also have miss 17 year old who loves her yoghurts and snack foods, lots of eggs and omelettes.

Today I wanted to shop without spending a lot - had my food money and didn't want to dip into any account.  I had about $125.  I planned my menus around food I already had in the freezer, fridge and pantry.  Yes, I do have a lot of basics from a Costco shop and have some meat we haven't eaten in last couple of weeks.

My shopping came in at $120 and as you can see from the pics, we're not going without.

ps, the grapes aren't very nice - they're going :(
