Another big week of reflection

Another big week of reflection from this lady :)

It's been 12 months since I signed up and started my journey on 12wbt so it should really be 12mbt (12 month body transformation).  I'm really happy with my progress, yes it could've been better, but I've succeeded and I've lived life.  It is now definitely a lifestyle.

My major obstacle was McDonalds, those horrendous golden arches and I'm embarrassed to say that I used to stop on the way home 3 - 4 times a week, grab a quarter pounder meal and then come home and cook a real meal for the family.  Oh don't forget the couple of times a week I used to stop and get breakfast because lazy ass me couldn't be bothered making it, but I had enough time to go through drive thru.

I'm sure if I conducted a scientific experiment and calculated the time to go through drive thru, wait for the order it would be the same time it takes me to cook a piece of toast, an egg and put some avocado on the toast.

So for all those people who whinge they can't afford $200 over 12 weeks, let's do some maths.  Oh oh, hit a problem.  I can't remember the price of a med quarter pounder meal, even looking at the website I can't find a price but I did find the kj of one quarter pounder burger, which is a shocking 2280kj (about 550 cal).  Let's see how many kj in a med fries.  1540kj!!!!  So I was consuming 3820kj in one pit stop on the way home from work - OMFG!!!!!  That's nearly 1000cal!!!!

Just did my maths for $$$ used.  If a quarter pounder meal costs $7 (it could be more or it could be lss), that's $28 a week I was spending on Macca's a week.

28 x 12 = $336

gee, there's my $199 for my 12 week registration of this program, with money left over.

So, do me a favour, please don't let me hear you say you can't afford it.  Because by me stopping visiting the golden arches, I've paid for the registration.  That doesn't include the Thursday, Friday and Saturday night takeaway or meals out with friends.

Now reminiscing about fitness levels as it's the eve of me running in the Central Coast 10km run.  I'm going to run the 10km, aiming for a time of less than 65 minutes.  My good friend Molly www.munuelaquirk.blogspot.com is running her first half ................ woooo excited much!!!

So as I took my faithful border collie Jake for a walk this morning I thought of this time 12 months ago, where I completed (just) my first SSS (Super Saturday Session);

12 months ago I met my SSS buddy at the local park for our first ever SSS.

She was a beginner and I was an intermediate.

What an experience that was. Garry and I walked down, with the dog. Why with the dog I'll never know.

Halfway through round 3 I had to lay down on the grass, light headed and pooped!!!!

But Molly gave me some space and gentle encouragement (she's not so gentle with her encouragement anymore) and I got up and finished.

Then the thought hit me, omg we have to walk home, up hills all the way. Only 1.5km but might as well have been Mt Everest.

It was a very slow tentative walk home.

Today I'm resting (taking the dog for a 6km walk) before I run my second 10km race tomorrow.

Ladies and gents - you can do it!!!! JFDI !!!!

So, yes I'm a huge advocate for Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation - don't you dare try and tell me it doesn't work, because you'll be arguing with one very fit woman!!!

12 months may seem like a long time but the quality of life this 12 months has given me is priceless and I'm forever grateful for my family and friends (cheerleader Sally), who support me every week/day.

Looking forward to blogging both myself and Molly's successes for tomorrow :)
