Round 3, Week 2

Round 3 is well and truly underway and it is definitely a lifestyle!!!  This round seems to find me in the best headspace ...................... so far.

I've made a concerted effort to exercise 6 days a week.  Last round I got a bit lazy as I fell in love with running so was happy to run 3 or 4 times a week and I let my toning days slip.  So I say with a smile that for 2 weeks now I've exercised 6 days a week!!!

I've had a little bit of discomfort with both knees the past week, so am taking my runs easy and listening to my body.  Fingers crossed it's just the squat jumps that have aggravated them.  I do desperately want to do many more fun runs in the 5 - 10km range.  Today when I was grocery shopping I stopped at the chemist and bought some glucosamine and daily omega tablets.  Let's see if they help me.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think Jake, my gorgeous furry running mate is struggling to keep up with me.  Either that or he doesn't get that I can't stop for pee breaks all the time, that I have a distance and time I want to run.  I can't leave him at home.  I go for my runs early in the morning, about 5am, so he's a bit of security for me.  Not that he'd do anything, he'd probably just run home, but he's certainly a deterrant.  And he really really loves his runs.  As soon as I get dressed he's ready.  So I will keep taking him for runs up to 6km.  Maybe in summer or school holidays I'll go on my own when I'm running in daylight.

This round, I haven't consciously tried to change my drinking patterns but they've changed.  I'm drinking heaps more water than ever before.  Probably averaging 4 litres a day!!!  Which is a mammoth effort, considering before November I'd have none.  But I'd have 2 - 3 coffees a day, a couple of 600mls of pepsi max - wow, how times have changed.  I've also fallen in love with peppermint tea so having two of them a day as well.  I'm only really having one coffee a day and that's in the morning.

I've borrowed, oh ok, copied an idea from a fellow blogger (cocoagirl), who uses clothes as a challenge and takes pics every week.  This round I would like to comfortably fit into size 14 pants.  The silly thing is I now own 3 pairs that fit me comfortably but a pair of denim capris I bought are too tight.  So that is my challenge for this round - get them on and get them done up.  So here goes; the beginning of week 2 and I can get the pants most of the way up.

Let's see if I can smash these pants!!!

oh, good news, I've bought a couple of size 12 dresses off ebay so will be looking forward to fitting into them too.

Loving being able to shop because I want to, not because I need to.  And when I needed to, I struggled to find anything I liked.  Now it seems like I have so many choices ................ wooo!!!!

  1. Funny you should say that about exercising. I fell in love with running and ended up out for a run after work and called my exercise session done. I realize now how important the strength and toning days are, so I'm the same.

Jake looks like a darling. My little Jack will go like the wind then nope that's it, no more, walking the rest of the way. I took him out once with my Runkeeper, my map was hysterical, I think we detoured at every tree and post!
