Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mums out there!!!!!
It's been a huge day, starting at 6am this morning. OMG, getting up at 6am on a Sunday morning to exercise - nope, wouldn't have done that a few months ago.
I awoke to a lovely email from my travelling daughter, brought a few tears to my eyes as I consider us a close family who celebrates together, and I'm a mum and one of my littlies isn't with me to enjoy the day.
On a cold, foggy morning we arrived at Parramatta Park for my first 4km fun run. My lovely 17 year old was running with me as was my SSS buddy, Molly. I knew I could do this, geez I've been running 4km 3 times a week for the past 6 weeks. But I still felt apprehensive - still feel like a fraud.
Off we went, among the masses. I do start off running slowly, until about the 1km mark and then I seem to settle into my pace. It was a slow start as it was so crowded.
Run we did, all the way.
We started together and finished together - clocking the same times, 27.11 sec. I think I could've run more, it was comfortable and I've felt good all day, except for some tiredness from the early morning.
Home we came and found a fun run to aim for - Bays Run - 7km on Aug 4th!!!! Sounds like there could be a group of about 6 of us running in this one.
So I guess I could officially say I'm a runner.
I had a lovely day, with some quality time wandering around Windsor Markets with my two at home kiddies. Got a Michelle Bridges Crunchtime cookbook and a new pair of workout tights (MB) and a delightful size 14 too!!!
All's looking good in the world, as I embark on round 3 tomorrow ...............
