Oh my goodness what have I signed up for????
This is me this afternoon after a little training session
I'm just a little bit scared, I was even close to crying this afternoon as I was training. Let's just say I'm a lot scared.
I'm not scared of the Multi Stage Marathon I've signed up to do over 7/3 - 10/3. I know I can do three 10km runs and a 12.2km run over four consecutive days. Yes, it's going to be tiring but I know I can do it.
But, I'm scared of five days later competing in a Pinkie Triathlon. I thought it would be reasonably easy - 300m swim/9km bike ride/3km run. I've been training hard swimming, getting my swimming fitness up to scratch.
Tonight I decided I needed to practice riding then transitioning to a run. OMG!!!!! JELLY LEGS!!!! I rode 9km in 30 mins, then came home, grabbed the dog and went for a 3km run. The first 1km was the hardest one km I've run in a very long time. Never experienced those jelly legs before. I was running down the road, dog in tow, wanting to stop, sit in the gutter and cry that it was too hard. Felt like I had to run a half marathon, not just 3km. Definitely need more of that training.
Earned my burn tonight!!!
