To be sure, to be sure, to be sure

I sit her on a quiet Sunday night at 11.30pm, knowing it's two more sleeps until my daughter flies off into the sunset, or into the cold, hearding for Limerick, Ireland.

Once a mum, always a mum.  I can't believe how fast these 21 years have flown, so many memories etched in my mind.  I can still remember the moment Britt was born and placed on my chest, her first day of school, moving on to high school, the challenges of year 12 and the HSC and now her growing into an amazing woman and about to study and travel overseas.

I have lots of emotions I'm dealing with at the moment, but trying to stay calm and enjoy the last few days with her.  I'm glad I'm on holidays and glad she's had a week off work before her travel begins.  It's given us some nice moments together.

Friday night we had a lovely dinner out with friends and family at Il Nido, Castle Hill.  Yummy food and lots of laughs finishing with a cake from Britt's favourite cafe ' sadhana'.  The young ones then headed off to the Hillside for more drinks and dancing.  Garry, Selena and I wandered up there later and enjoyed a couple of drinks and lots of people watching.  OMG these girls wearing not much more than a handikerchief around their waist!!!!  We got a few laughs watching some tacky Barbie dolls trying to walk in their heels and pull their skirts down so no cheeks were showing.

Today was a bit of an Irish day.  Hayley couldn't make it into the city, so Garry, Britt, Joel and I headed into the city.  We wandered through the Rocks Markets and I found a few dresses I'd love to buy when I lose more weight.  We then had lunch at the Mercantile Hotel (an Irish pub), followed by yummy scones, jam and cream from the Irish Shop.  A lovely day out was had by all.

My motto at the moment;

'Don't sweat the small stuff'.
